US domestic spot market prices for Grade A ERW BPE standard pipe are still being heard at approximately $46.00 cwt.  ($1025/mt or $930/nt), ex-Midwest mill, but sources close to SteelOrbis report an increased belief that mills are willing to negotiate deals slightly below this range for volume-based buyers.

Activity continues to be steady, but “somewhat tepid,” sources note, citing the “typical summer slowdown” as being the primary catalyst of current buying trends.

It should also be noted that since US domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) and US domestic scrap prices are trending soft, there continue to be some concern that should spot market pricing within these segments continue to erode, that US domestic standard pipe prices could also be vulnerable to correction.
