With US domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) prices at their highest level in a year, it’s not surprising that prices for downstream products, including US domestic Grade A ERW standard pipe, have continued to rise.

Sources close to SteelOrbis have say that the big question relates to how high prices will climb, before they level and/or start to taper off.

Current pricing, which was previously heard in the range of $55-$57 cwt. ($1213-$1257 or $1100-$1140/nt) ex-mill, has since widened by $3.00 cwt. ($66/mt or $60/nt) on the top end.
Pricing for Grade B standard pipe is slightly higher, trending between $60-$65 cwt. ($1323-$1433/mt or $1200-$1300/nt), ex-mill.

Deals toward the bottom end of these ranges are said to be disappearing quickly.
