Sources close to SteelOrbis continue to lament over the state of the energy pipe market.

“There aren’t any bright spots right now, only pain and suffering,” one source said. And while “official” pricing continues to be heard in the range of $50-$55 cwt. ($1,102-$1,213/mt or $1,000-$1,100/nt) ex-mill, “spot deals are available.”

“There’s ‘market price’ and ‘get me a [purchase order]’ price. However, the ‘get me a purchase order’ price still requires demand, which there really isn’t,” he said.  “Pricing is pretty much everywhere, depending on who you are and what you’re willing to commit to.”
