US HSS prices stable after Nov. 15 revision

Spot market prices for US domestic HSS tubing have remained steady in the past two weeks, sources said, adding that the average price continues to trend at $68.50 cwt. ($1,510/mt or $1,370/nt), FOB mill.  However, sources continue to report they believe that the spread between HRC and HSS tubing, which is currently trending at +/- $38.50 cwt.  ($849/mt or $770/nt), is “still far too wide, which means that either HRC needs to come up, or HSS needs to come down, and I don’t think anyone thinks that HRC prices are going to jump $20+ cwt. ($441/mt or $400/nt) anytime soon.
