The US domestic standard pipe market continues to be stuck in neutral, according to SteelOrbis sources, although there are signs that US import tonnages are starting to taper.  Global import tons for the months of May and June came in at 111,016 mt and 84,917 mt, respectively, and totals for the current month as of July 14 have been tallied at 27,769.

In terms of activity within the US domestic market, everything is on par with levels seen two weeks ago.  Prices for A-53 ERW BPE Grade A standard pipe remain sideways, at $42.50-$43.50 cwt. ($937-$959/mt or $850-$870/nt), ex-Midwest mill, while import offer prices from Korean, Turkish and Vietnamese mills remain at about $33.00-$34.00 cwt. ($728-$750/mt or $660-$680/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports, but as in previous weeks, pricing is flexible based on the size and scope of the order.
