The US domestic API X-42 electric resistance welded (ERW) line pipe market has held steady at soft sideways since our last report a week ago, as short lead times and profuse availability continue to impact the market.  The most commonly reported spot price transaction range has held at approximately $51.00-$52.00 cwt. ($1,124-$1,146/mt or $1,020-$1,040/nt) ex-Midwest mill, although deals as much as $2.00 cwt. ($44/mt or $40/nt) are still prevalent on larger orders.

Meanwhile, import offer prices for API X-42 ERW line pipe from Taiwan and Vietnam have also rocked steady since last week and are still in the approximate range of $38.50-$39.50 cwt. ($849-$871/mt or $770-$790/nt) DDP loaded truck US Gulf coast ports.  Trader sources, though, say they’re not exactly chomping at the bit to book speculative tons, and are for the most part, buying conservatively.
