Following the sharp downward adjustment seen last week, the Turkish hollow section market has shown little appetite for another price change, with steel producers largely keeping their prices stable despite the ongoing weak trading conditions. Business remains slow in both the domestic and export markets, while recent attempts to push spot indications slightly higher have so far failed to gain traction. With pipe makers seeing no meaningful improvement in order intake and buyers continuing to purchase only selectively, suppliers have preferred to preserve current levels rather than test either another reduction or a broader increase. The market has therefore settled into a temporary period of stability, although the lack of stronger demand continues to limit any firmer price direction.
As a result, the domestic market has continued to see hollow section prices at around $630-650/mt ex-works this week. Quotations from major producers are concentrated at $630-640/mt ex-works, whereas small and medium-sized mills are mostly maintaining levels of $640-650/mt ex-works.
For exports, the prevailing offer range remains at $620-640/mt FOB. The lower part of the range is mainly represented by larger producers at around $620-630/mt FOB, while offers from smaller and medium-sized suppliers are generally placed at $640/mt FOB.
