The Turkish hollow section market has moved to higher price levels this week, supported mainly by the recent upward trend in the domestic flat steel spot market and the continued firmness of scrap prices. Pipe producers have gradually revised their offers upward in response to the stronger cost environment, although overall market conditions remain relatively cautious. In the domestic market, demand is described as moderate, with buyers continuing to make purchases mainly for short-term needs, while export activity remains comparatively slow. Nevertheless, some inquiries and limited-volume bookings from nearby export destinations are still being reported, preventing a sharper slowdown in overall trading activity.
In line with this trend, domestic hollow section prices in Turkey have increased to $710-730/mt ex-works, rising from $695-725/mt ex-works reported last week. However, market sources indicate that some suppliers are still willing to conclude higher-volume deals at levels starting from around $700/mt ex-works.
Similarly, export offer levels have also moved upward and are currently heard at $700-725/mt FOB, compared to $690-710/mt FOB in the previous week.
