Turkish domestic welded pipe demand not foreseen to increase

It is observed that demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market has remained at low levels over the past week with purchases only made in line with needs. Market sources do not expect any significant development in the market before the end of the current year, while they believe domestic welded pipe prices will remain under downward pressure. The decreases in global steel prices are also seen to be exerting further pressure on the local Turkish welded pipe market. The anticipated declines in domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations in Turkey in the short term are expected to lead to decreases in domestic welded pipe prices before the end of the year.

In the current week, Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their domestic market have moved sideways at $570-610/mt ex-works.
