During the week ending July 31, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved sideways. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $635-725/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $570-580/mt FOB.
During the given week, some steel pipe producers in China halted their production due to environmental protection measures, thereby providing support for steel pipe prices. However, heavy rainfall and high temperatures negatively affected demand for steel pipes. It is expected that steel pipe export prices from China will again move on a stable trend in the coming week.
