Chinese steel pipe export offer prices move sideways

During the week ending June 5, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved on a stable trend. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $620-710/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $560-575/mt FOB.

During the given week, demand for steel pipe has been slack, resulting in quiet activities in steel pipe market. However, since iron ore prices have started to edge down, steel pipe producers have shown a pessimistic attitude towards the prospect of the future market. At the same time, rainy weather is approaching in southern China, which will slacken the demand further. It is expected steel pipe export prices from China will edge down in the coming week.
