During the week ending June 26, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved on a stable trend. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $620-710/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $560-575/mt FOB.
During the given week, ferrous metals futures prices in China have moved up significantly, exerting a positive impact on the steel pipe market. However, demand for steel pipes has been slack, negatively affecting prices. Meanwhile, inventories in the steel pipe market have risen, weakening the support for the steel pipe prices. It is thought that steel pipe export prices from China will continue to move sideways in the coming week.
