Prices, order activity and inquiries for both the US domestic and import Grade A electric resistance welded (ERW) black plain end (BPE) standard pipe are still “trucking along,” according to sources, who note that current market conditions are “uninteresting.”

Prices since our last report a week ago are sideways; the most commonly reported US domestic spot price transaction range continues to hold at $42.50-$43.50 cwt. ($937-$959/mt or $850-$870/nt), ex-Midwest mill, while import offer prices from Korean, Turkish and Vietnamese mills remain at about $33.00-$34.00 cwt. ($728-$750/mt or $660-$680/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.  “There just isn’t much going on,” according to another source, “the market is boring.”
