Over the past week, Turkish welded pipe producers’ domestic offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from HRC of S235 grade as per EN 10219 has decreased by $20/mt on the lower end to $550-580/mt ex-works. According to market sources, the reason for this downward movement is the weakening demand from buyers ahead of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday.

On the other hand, Turkish pipe producers may increase their prices after the holiday if scrap prices move upwards. Besides, currently, Turkish buyers’ firm bids are $10-20/mt lower than the current price levels. A source from a Turkish pipe mill has commented, “This price level is not realistic. We cannot accept buyers’ bids due to high production costs.”
