Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their export markets has increased by $10/mt on the upper end week on week to $610-640/mt FOB.

In the given period, inquiries for Turkish welded pipe and hollow sections in target markets have increased, though the number of concluded deals has not accelerated, according to market sources. Turkish mills have continued their sales of low tonnages to markets such as Africa and the Middle East. As for the European market, Turkish mills have maintained their price advantage as compared to European mills’ price offers in their domestic market. Accordingly, Turkish mills are seeking to conclude as many deals as possible to Europe before the European Commission announces its final decision regarding trade measures on steel imports. Currently, half of the quota for welded pipe imports in Europe has been used up.
