SteelOrbis has been informed that the local Turkish welded pipe market is very quiet in the last week of 2018, while buyers are reported to be maintaining their wait-and-see stance for now, to see the price policies at the start of next year.

Turkish producers’ offer range for ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to their domestic market has moved sideways at $570-600/mt ex-works. However, expectations of continuous downward pressure on hot rolled coil (HRC) prices in both domestic and export markets are also exerting further pressure on domestic welded pipe quotations, and so demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market is expected to remain at low levels in the short term.
