Local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their declining trend during the past week.
Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have followed a soft trend during the past seven days amid lower billet and raw material prices, while trading activity has been slack amid the ongoing downtrend. Supply volume has increased a little and is considered to be at normal levels. Traders have mostly been willing to offer lower prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, as demand may recover, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may resume a stable trend.
Local Chinese welded pipe prices have indicated a downward trend during the past week against the backdrop of declines in steel strip and raw material prices. Overall trading activity has been weak, affected by the rainy weather in southern areas of China. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate a further minor softening.
