During the given week, rainy weather in southern China resulted in reduced demand for steel pipes, thereby exerting a negative impact on prices. However, tube blank prices have remained stable in northern China, which provided support for steel pipe prices.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 3,302/mt ($467/mt) on April 29, down RMB 73/mt ($10.3/mt) or 2.16 percent from April 22.
