During the week ending August 28, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have moved sideways. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $625-710/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $540-560/mt FOB, October shipment.
During the given week, buyers have been unwilling to conclude purchases for steel pipe as they held a wait-and-see stance towards prospect for the future market. Hot weather continued in southern China, exerting a negative impact on steel pipe market. It is expected that steel pipe prices from China will fluctuate within a limited range in the coming week.
