During the week ending April 10, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have continued their stable trend. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $650-740/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $550-565/mt FOB.
During the given week, after the VAT rate was reduced to 13 percent as of April 1, traders have still remained cautious about concluding purchases of steel pipes. Demand from downstream users has shown some improvement, while buyers have been unwilling to accept rises in steel pipe prices. It is expected that steel pipe export prices from China will again move sideways in the coming week.
