During the week ending February 20, average Chinese steel pipe export offer prices have mostly moved on a stable trend, especially as regards seamless pipe, while welded pipe export prices have increased. At present, export offers for API 5L seamless pipe given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $620-710/mt FOB, while export offers for API 5L welded pipe given by Chinese suppliers are at $550-565/mt FOB.

During the given week, demand has for steel pipe exports has remained slack, resulting in a mostly stable trend for ex-China steel pipe prices. However, welded steel pipe prices have edged upwards due to support from increases in steel strip prices. As for the coming week, rainy weather will negatively affect the finished steel market in China. It is thought that steel pipe export prices from China will edge down in the week ahead.
