Sources close to SteelOrbis have indicated that while spot market pricing for US domestic HSS tubing continues to hold at approximately $46 cwt. ($1,014/mt or $920/nt) ex-works, with deals available for volume orders, spot prices may start to slide.

“Prices seem to be softening,” a source said. “At this point there aren’t a lot of bright spots in the market, and with the belief that HRC prices will start to slide again in the near future, a lot of us are just trying to tread water.”
