Turkey’s ship scrap quotations settle in very narrow range

Today, July 14, two steel mills in Turkey’s Izmir region have increased their ship scrap purchase prices by $3-5/mt, while the other two steelmakers in the region have kept their prices stable. As a result, ship scrap purchase quotations in Turkey have settled in a very narrow range at $250-251/mt, for delivery to mill by truck. This decision to increase ship scrap purchase prices came after the slight increase in the ex-US scrap prices disclosed to the market today.
