Two Turkish mills increase their ship scrap procurement prices

Today, March 24, two Izmir-based Turkish mills have decided to increase their ship scrap procurement quotations by $10-30/mt. This upward revision has not changed the general price range which is still at $495-640/mt. However, it shows that ship scrap flow to the mills was on the low side, as SteelOrbis reported yesterday, and that an increase in prices was necessary. The average ship scrap procurement price in Izmir’s Aliaga region is now $8/mt higher than yesterday. Çebitaş, which represents the lower end, has kept its prices stable since March 3.
