Turkey’s ship scrap prices still stable, upward revision expected

The stable trend of Turkey’s domestic ship scrap purchase prices has continued since September 8. The general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market is still in the range of $430-446/mt.  A major ship scrap buyer has stated that the sideways movement of ship scrap prices should nearly be at an end given the uptrend observed in all other scrap segments. The local Turkish scrap market has been revised upwards in line with the depreciation of the Turkish lira, while deep and short sea scrap prices are moving up, and so ship scrap procurement prices are expected to be adjusted accordingly.
