Turkey’s ship scrap market starts week with a sideways movement

Turkey’s ship scrap market has mostly remained stable during the long holiday between July 15-26 and as of today the general price range in Turkey’s ship scrap market is still at $450-480/mt. However, towards the end of the last week an Izmir-based steel mill has decreased its ship scrap purchase prices by $1/mt at first and then reduced them $1/mt more. During the holiday, Turkish steel market has maintained its silence as well as the scrap segments. With market players returning from holiday, the first day of the week will be used to evaluate the situation and the pace of the flow in ship scrap market.
