Local Turkish scrap purchase prices decrease on lower end

Wednesday, 01 September 2021 15:36:22 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Today, September 1, some Turkish mills have decreased their domestic scrap purchase prices by TRY 60-80/mt or $3-6/mt, depending on grades. Other steelmakers have kept their quotations stable, which has resulted in a $3-5/mt increase in their dollar-based prices as the Turkish lira has been appreciating against the US dollar.

As a result, the general range in the local Turkish scrap market for the benchmark DKP grade scrap has decreased from TRY 3,600-4,305/mt to TRY 3,530-4,305, while the dollar-based quotations moved from $431-515/mt to $426-520/mt.
