Over the past week, CIS basic pig iron producers have kept their pig iron export offer prices at $340-345/mt FOB. According to market sources, demand is still weak and no deals have been reported by the time of publication. Ex-CIS prices have remained stable due to reduced supply volumes. In addition, last week SteelOrbis heard that a deal for Russian low Mn content pig iron to western Europe was concluded at $370/mt FOB

On the other hand, Brazlian mills’ basic pig iron export offers have increased by $3-5/mt over the past week and are currently at $320-325/mt FOB. Last week, a sale of 40,000 mt was concluded to a Turkish steel mill at $320/mt FOB for September shipment.
