Today, October 20, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have been following different trends depending on the region, taking into account the market situation in each region. The key factor is the ongoing currency fluctuation, coupled with developments in the scrap segment. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 8,200-8,220/mt or $751-753/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at $740-750/mt ex-works today, including Icdas A.S. . Around 1,000-2,000 mt of rebar were traded at $750/mt ex-works at the beginning of this week.
Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has opened its rebar sales at $750/mt ex-works. Sources report that around 8,000-10,000 mt were traded at $730/mt ex-works in the Izmir region yesterday.
In the Iskenderun region, one re-roller has opened its rebar sales at TRY 8,270/mt ($758/mt) ex-warehouse. Another re-roller in the region opened its rebar sales at TRY 8,240/mt ($755/mt) earlier today, raising them by TRY 60/mt to TRY 8,300/mt ($760/mt) ex-warehouse in the afternoon.
