Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly raised their official domestic merchant bar prices by TRY 500/mt ($11/mt) week on week, except in the Iskenderun region where merchant bar prices have remained stable in the local currency amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and relatively better sentiment in the import scrap segment. In the Iskenderun region, one mill is offering its equal angles at TRY 21,450/mt ($613/mt) ex-works.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in late January-February or from stocks, depending on the size. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 27,000/mt ($771/mt) ex-works, for delivery to the Osmaniye region, stable in the local currency.
