Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers have mostly cut their official domestic merchant bar prices by TRY 100/mt ($5/mt), with prices only remaining stable in the Iskenderun region in the local currency with minor changes on US dollar basis, against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment. In the Iskenderun region, one mill is offering its equal angles at TRY 21,000/mt ($592/mt) ex-works.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in February or from stocks, depending on the size. A few re-rollers are also offering their HEA/HEB (550-700 mm, standard) at TRY 27,000/mt ($761/mt) ex-works, for delivery to the Osmaniye region, stable in the local currency.
