The sole Romanian longs producer and local traders have chosen to maintain the same long steel offers as last week. Even though fully aware of the market's depressing outlook for a few months, market participants claim that the main reason prices are stable is that discounts or price reductions have not attracted buyers' attention.
As a result, Romania’s sole rebar producer again has kept its domestic rebar offers at €575-580/mt ex-works. Likewise, Romanian rebar traders have also maintained their previous weeks’ offers of €570-585/mt ex-warehouse. However, a few traders are still attempting to sell more aggressively, at around €550-560/mt ex-warehouse, in order to attract buyers.
In the wire rod market, a quiet situation like that in the rebar market has been seen, and several traders have confirmed their prices at about €570-580/mt ex-warehouse.
Meanwhile, in the import market, according to reports Moldova has continued to offer the same as before at €575/mt CPT and Bulgaria has offered rebar at €600-610/mt CPT. Meanwhile, Egypt has increased offers for rebar and wire rod at €565-580/mt CFR for October shipment, from €550-555/mt CFR before. In addition, this week, according to sources, Italy has offered 5,000 mt of rebar to the port of Constanta in Romania at €575/mt CIF.
