Prices increase further in local Turkish rebar spot market

In the local Turkish rebar spot market, traders' prices have increased by TRY 30-70/mt over the past week, though prices on US dollar basis have risen by just $1-14/mt due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate. With local producer Kardemir opening its rebar sales for the domestic market today, April 16, the tight availability of rebar which has been reported in the market since the beginning of the current week is expected to ease.

On the other hand, the wide gap between the prices in different regions of the country is caused by the difficulties suppliers have in deciding their prices amid the rise in strength of the US dollar against the Turkish lira.

As of today, April 16, traders' rebar offers in the Turkish domestic market are as follows:
