SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that demand in the Syrian domestic long steel market has been lower this week as compared to last week. SteelOrbis has been informed that, in the Syrian longs market, prices of imported angles are at SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($784-795/mt) ex-warehouse, imported IPN/UPN prices are at SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($784-795/mt) ex-warehouse, while flat and square bar prices are at the level of SYP 33,000-34,000/mt ($709-730/mt) ex-works. All prices are on actual weight basis, for weekly deferred payment and excluding VAT.
On the other hand, local mills' rebar prices in the Syrian market stand at SYP 32,500-33,000/mt ($698-709/mt) ex-works, on actual weight basis, excluding VAT, and for cash payment.
