Demand in the Syrian domestic long steel market has shown some revival. SteelOrbis has been informed that, in the Syrian longs market, prices of imported angles are at SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($778-789/mt) ex-warehouse, imported IPN/UPN prices are at SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($778-789/mt) ex-warehouse, while flat and square bar prices are at the level of SYP 33,000-34,000/mt ($703-724/mt) ex-works, all compared to last week. All prices are on actual weight basis, for weekly deferred payment and excluding VAT.

On the other hand, local mills' rebar prices in the Syrian market stand at SYP 31,000/mt ($660/mt) ex-works, on actual weight basis, excluding VAT, and for cash payment. In the Syrian domestic market, due to more competitive prices in a context of lively demand and also with the support of reduced billet prices, rebar prices have witnessed a softening.
