In a letter to customers Thursday, Nucor Yamato announced an immediate $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) price decrease for wide flange beams (WFB) and standard products "due to market conditions." The move came at the same time Nucor dropped base prices for rebar and merchant bar by $1.00 cwt. as well.
Additionally, the letter mentioned that the new transaction pricing will stand "regardless of any change in the Raw Materials Surcharge," which has yet to be announced.
