In a letter to customers sent late Wednesday, Nucor-Yamato announced that transaction prices for most beam products will increase by $35/nt ($1.75 cwt. or $39/mt), effective immediately with new orders.
However, all confirmed orders by the close of business Wednesday will be price protected if shipped before January 13, 2014.
The increase marks the first price move for beams since mid-July.
