Nucor-Yamato announced late Wednesday that effective with shipments as of October 11, 2012, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to wide flange beam (WFB) products will be $173/nt ($8.65 cwt. or $191/mt), representing a $47/nt ($2.35 cwt. or $52/mt) decrease from the September 14, 2012 surcharge.
Additionally, Nucor will increase the base price for WFB by $17/nt ($0.85 cwt. or $19/mt). The net effect of this move is that transaction prices for WFB will decrease by $30/nt ($1.50 cwt. or $33/mt).
