Nucor-Yamato announced late Wednesday that effective with shipments as of September 1, 2012, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to wide flange beam products will be $248/nt ($12.40 cwt. or $273/mt), representing an $83/nt ($4.15 cwt. or $91/mt) increase from the July 17, 2012 surcharge.
Further, Nucor-Yamato will decrease the base price for wide flange beam products by $33/nt ($1.65 cwt. or $36/mt). The net effect of this move is that transaction prices for beams will increase by $50/nt ($2.50 cwt. or $55/mt).
