Nucor issues second merchant bar announcement this month; SDI responds

In a letter to customers late Wednesday, Nucor said it will reduce published prices for most merchant and structural products by $0.35 cwt. ($7/nt or $7.72/mt) in order to “address domestic competition.”
 
Early Thursday, Steel Dynamics Inc. matched the price decrease, adding that the company “reserves the right to be competitive in the marketplace where necessary.”
 
New list prices for basic items are now as follows:
