In letters to customers late Monday, Gerdau and Nucor both announced they will be raising prices on merchant bar products by $1.50 cwt. ($30/nt or $33/mt), effective with all new orders as of Dec. 10, 2019. Steel Dynamics sent a similar letter early Tuesday.
The new published prices for merchant bar are:
