Today, July 4, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by TRY 300-500/mt ($11-22/mt) against the backdrop of the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and currency fluctuations, following Icdas’ recent rebar price hike. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,800-14,000/mt or $694-705/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills have started the week with rebar price hikes. Icdas has set its rebar price at $700/mt ex-works today. Other Marmara-based are currently offering rebar at $700-710/mt ex-works. Rebar size availability is also another challenge ahead of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday period. In the Izmir region, most mills are offering rebar at $700/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has increased its rebar prices by another TRY 400/mt ($17/mt) to TRY 14,000/mt ($705/mt) ex-works today.
In the Karabuk region, Yolbulan A.S. has opened its rebar sales at TRY 14,000/mt ($705/mt) ex-works today.
