Today, February 19, spot prices in the Turkish domestic rebar market have further increased by TRY 30-70/mt ($2-8/mt), supported by generally positive expectations in the market and improved interest from buyers. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are at TRY 5,070-5,150/mt or $617-627/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its rebar price at TRY 5,120/mt ($623/mt), down by $1/mt on US dollar basis. One Marmara-based mill is currently offering rebar at TRY 5,215/mt ($635/mt) ex-works.
According to sources, around 5,000-10,000 mt of rebar have been traded at TRY 5,070/mt ($617/mt) ex-works in the Izmir region today. More local rebar sales are expected to be revealed by the beginning of next week.
Turkish mills are expected to increase their rebar prices at the beginning of next week due to the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment.
