Over the past week, Turkish merchant bar producers’ prices have risen by TRY 300-500/mt ($4-9/mt) against the backdrop of the ongoing currency fluctuations. One Iskenderun-based mill has issued its equal angle price at TRY 25,000/mt ($618/mt) ex-works today, July 23, rising by TRY 350/mt ($6/mt) week on week.
The main reason why the margin of the price increase in Denizli is higher than in the Izmir region is the higher cost of transportation between the two cities.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering either for deliveries in August or from stocks, depending on the size.
