Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC), one of the key Iranian steel producers and exporters, has announced fresh tenders for its steel semis with both offers valid until October 16, 2023.

The supplier is not offering 20,000-50,000 mt of prime steel slab of SS400/SAE1008 quality with the cargo due to be ready at the end of November and to be shipped from BIK port.

In addition, KSC is offering 20,000-50,000 mt of 3SP/5SP square billet of 150 mm and/or 130 mm size and 12 m in length. The cargo is due to be ready for early December.

The previous deal price for 30,000 mt of billet was closed via a tender at $476.5/mt FOB, according to market players.

In the meantime, traders, who are selling Iranian billet from the previous positions, are offering $475-480/mt FOB for Asian markets at around $480-490/mt FOB for the Middle East and Turkey. However, neither of these levels have gained much acceptance from buyers due to the overall negative sentiment in the global billet market and the negative situation in China in particular.
