India’s domestic billet prices trend up

On August 2, SteelOrbis reported that secondary grade billet prices in the Raipur (central east India) region increased slightly to INR 31,400-32,000/mt ($458-466/mt) ex-works.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that the price for induction grade billet (secondary grade) has increased to INR 33,000/mt ($480/mt) ex-works Raipur. The same trend is reported in the Durgapur (north east India) area where prices have reportedly increased to INR 33,000-33,500/mt ($480-487/mt) ex-works. In Raipur, prices increased $22/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $21/mt from the top of the previous range.
