Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have increased their official export prices by $10/mt to $600-620/mt FOB against the backdrop of higher production costs. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $600-620/mt FOB, for March-early April shipment.

A few merchant bar re-rollers are offering at below $600/mt FOB, depending on the region and tonnage, SteelOrbis has heard.

"There is still room within the EU merchant bar quota which began on January 1. However, international buyers are in wait-and-see mode following the recent upward trend in ex-Turkey merchant bar export prices," one source commented.

The SteelOrbis daily Turkish import billet reference price stands at $440-480/mt CFR, stable week on week.

Product Price ($/mt)
Angle 600-620
IPN-UPN 610-630
Flat bar 630-650
IPE 610-630

All prices are on FOB basis for March-early April shipment.
