Last week, SteelOrbis reported the commonly heard spot market price range for US domestic plate was trending in the range of $45-$47 cwt. ($992-$1,036/mt or $900-$940/nt), ex-mill. This week, sources close to SteelOrbis say that lackluster order placement at the mill level has led to discounts of up to $1.50 cwt. ($33/mt or $30/nt) below that range.  Service center stocks are healthy, sources note, adding that a number of service centers are buying and selling amongst themselves.
