US plate mills announce price increase

SSAB Americas Wednesday announced that effective immediately, transaction prices for all non-contract as-rolled mill plate, cut-to-length plate >72”,  HRC  >72” as well as normalized and quenched & tempered plate would be raised by a minimum of $25/nt.

The increase is effective immediately, they said, for all orders acknowledged for shipment the week of June 7 and beyond.

ArcelorMittal and Nucor Plate Group also announced $25/nt price increases, effective with all new orders; Evraz North America said they will be increasing transactional prices on all carbon, HLSA, normalized, and quenched and tempered products by a minimum of $20/nt in the US, and $25/nt in Canada.
