Considering some mills' price hikes in the hot rolled coil (HRC) segment, as well as greater improvements in the scrap market, Turkish flat spot market traders have continued to maintain the same prices as in previous weeks. Meanwhile, domestic financial difficulties and a lack of demand continue to weigh on the market, prompting certain traders to provide discounts whereas most others still aim to maintain prices unchanged. However, despite the ongoing support, most market players believe that the current optimistic indicators are not going to stimulate greater demand and that prices will eventually trend down.
According to reports, domestic hot rolled sheet pricing has been stable in recent weeks at around $690-710/mt ex-warehouse. While bigger and medium-sized traders offered at $700-710/mt ex-warehouse, some other traders are still selling at around $690/mt ex-warehouse, though, as previously stated, a few traders provide $10-20/mt discounts to serious buyers.
Similarly, prices in the cold rolled sheet market have remained stable, with the majority of traders reporting prices at $790-800/mt ex-warehouse.
